St. Monica has been designated as a Katrina Relief collection site. We are in need of the following items if you wish to contribute.

Car Wash - Pre-Bazaar Fund Raiser
As a pre-bazaar fund raiser, St. Monica Lectors have elected to hold a car wash on Sat., Sept. 10th from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. All Lectors are expected to participate and all parishioners are asked to support this endeavor. For any questions and/or additional information, please contact Pauline Newman @ 281-447-0779.

CCE Classes
All CCE Classes will begin on Sunday, Sept., 25th. Classes for 1st to 12th grade are 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. and classes for Pre-K to Kindergarten are 11 a.m -12:15 p.m. It is our Christian duty to bring our children up in the way of the Lord. If your children are not attending Catholic school, they should be enrolled and attending the parish religious education program. Any questions and/ or concerns, contact the CCE office at 281-445-0334. 

Katrina Relief Drive
The Christian Community of St. Monica has launched a mass relief drive to assist the victims from Hurricane Katrina. We have become a drop off center for donations. We are asking the entire parish to please support this effort. The items collected are being taken to area shelters. Items needed most include but are not limited to diapers, tampons/sanitary pads, bath towels/wash cloths, soap, shampoo, baby formula, toothpaste, toothbrushes, plastic ware (forks, knives, spoons, plates, cups) trash bags, underwear (kids & adults), toys, games, sharpened pencils. Please help!!!!

"Sowing Seeds For Tomorrow's Harvest"'
Contributions for this campaign are $19,500 thus far with 93 of our 300+ families pledged. We need more than 3 in 10 people participating to make this a success. Our church needs your help and support to carry on all the various ministries in which you take part and for much needed re- pairs. It's not too late to pledge however full payment !1JJ!§:1 be received by October 16h. Place do- nations or pledge cards in the envelopes marked "Sowing Seeds" and list on your checks "Sowing Seeds".

Bazaar Meeting
The next Bazaar committee meeting will be held Tuesday September 6, 2005 @ 7:00 pm in the hall, we need representatives of all church organizations present for final booth assignments and to finalize the items and prices for the items you will be selling in your booths. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS THIS MEANS YOU!!! Sign up for bazaar committees in the vestibule of the church. Fall Blood Drive
KPC Knights and Ladies of Court and Council # 151 will host their Annual Fall Blood Drive on Sun., Sept. 11th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. here at St. Monica. There will be a sign up sheet in the vestibule of the church for anyone who would like to make a difference in someone's life by giving the gift of life. Attention!! Liturgical Committee
The Liturgical Committee will meet on September 14, after the 7:30 p.m. Mass. All members are expected; therefore, please mark the date on your calendar. Input from every member ensures that all topics are explored in a clear manner. Questions? Call Mae Smith at 713-688-2757.

Extraordinary Ministers
Fall/Winter Schedules are ready. You may pick up your schedule in the Sacristy before or after any Mass. If you are unable to serve when scheduled a call to 281-447-8734, (Willie & Lou Ann Richards), or 713-688-2757, (Mae Smith), will be greatly appreciated. Leave a message if there is no answer.

DSF UPDATE:
Our DSF Goal has been decreased to $35,513.00. To date, the amount paid is $8,627.31. 92 Parishioners have pledged $13,397.50. We are under our goal by $26,885.69. In order for us to reach our goal, we need full participation from the entire parish. Please consider making a pledge today. The Church is responsible for our goal shortage. We need your help!
