Mission

We, the people of St. Monica Catholic Church, recognize ourselves as a community of God's children called to holiness through Baptism and the Eucharist, to share the love of Christ through the message of the Gospel. Our mission is to pray and worship, teach and share Christ's saving message as we evangelize, build up, and nurture communities of faith; serving in Christ's name as we journey with each other to the fullness of eternal life.

We are committed to:

  1. Living the life of Christ the Priest through prayer and worship. As a community of God's people and members of his family, we gather to worship and pray, celebrating his offer of salvation by promoting and nurturing the spiritual life of our members, and through Christ's saving grace, experience his healing and peace.
  2. Living the life of Christ the Teacher as we share his message. We grow our members (young and old) to be active and good Christians by revitalizing ourselves through continuing programs of Catholic education, ongoing conversion, and a firm commitment to the teachings of Christ in thought, word and deed.
  3. Living the life of Christ the Shepherd through evangelization. Our church community is open to all who seek the word of God in their daily lives to satisfy their spiritual hunger, as we work to evangelize anew, those of our faith, and reach out, as well, to those who are unchurched and alienated.
  4. Living the life of Christ the Servant by sharing his love with all. As a community of Christ's faithful, we reach out to those in need, regardless of race color, or creed, through works of charity; demonstrating God's love for all, in imitation of Christ who came to serve, giving hope and dignity to the poor and downtrodden.
